England’s rare and valuable chalk streams (estimated to be 85% of the world’s total), face significant challenges. Their ecosystems are the result of a particular combination of geology, rich aquatic biodiversity and past management activities. Highlighting its unique character, environmental scientist, Dr Phill Teasdale, will tell you all about the upper River Allen in North East Dorset – its restoration, conservation and management.
