Lecture by Stuart Clarke. Stuart is the Conservation and Countryside Manager, Bournemouth Borough Council. Hengistbury Head is Bournemouth’s principal nature reserve with a fascinating range of habitats and associated species. It is also of international importance in respect of its archaeology and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It attracts about 1 million visits a year and so there are constantly issues and conflicts when it comes to reconciling ecological and recreational management.
