The Dorset coast is dotted with unusual buildings. A summerhouse that was built as a castle, and a castle that became a summerhouse, as well as a summerhouse that became a coastguard lookout.

There are chapels that may have been lighthouses (one of which may also have been dovecotes). Whilst churches were built to guide sailors (as was one castle, but that might have been a mistake).

There is a garden that is now underwater, and another that reused ancient buildings as landscape features (churches into gnomes).

And finally a memorial to a very strange event – a building that was constructed at less than the estimated cost!
