They had to contend with rationing of fuel, prizes and also the lights had to be shrouded and of course there was sadness. Rides and caravans were blown to pieces. They ran out of ammunition for the shooting gallery, one showman was arrested in the stall. After the Government closed them down, they then begged them to open again!
