A talk from Wessex Archaeology on the marine environment, exploring some of the various techniques used in marine geophysics, including sidescan sonar & marine magnetometer, and how to interpret and characterise potential archaeological features and submerged landscapes. Examples of maritime archaeology projects will be discussed including ship, submarine and aircraft wrecks. Wessex Archaeology is an archaeology and heritage service provider and educational charity that have been investigating and recording archaeology for over 40 years around the UK and the world.
