Speaker: Martin Gillett

The talk by Martin GIllet of British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) will provide insight into the species of marine mammals that are typically seen around the UK coastline along with a number of call out stories from local incidents, including a dolphin stranding at Hayling Island, a seal rescue from the Isle of Wight, and Thor the Calshot Walrus! Martin Gillett is volunteer Area Coordinator for Hampshire and Dorset with a particular passion for seals, and also is a volunteer for the Seal Research Trust. BDMLR are a charity with over 2,000 trained volunteers across the UK acting as a frontline response service for marine mammals that may be in need of help, reported via a 24-hour helpline.
