Speaker: Eileen Rawlings
The Brownsea Open Air Theatre gave their first production in 1964 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the birth of Shakespeare and have since raised over £300,000 for various charities and performed 29 different plays. Eileen will talk about the challenges involved in putting on an open-air play. She will describe some of the activities that go into making a successful production including lighting, props, sound effects, set building and costume making. Eileen will also bring in some costumes and a range of programmes and other material from the theatre’s archives for everyone to look through.
