Titan: The Solar System’s most intriguing moon - BNSS

Titan is one of the Solar System’s most intriguing places: a distant, orange-veiled world sculpted by alien seas, where methane behaves like water on Earth, forming rivers, lakes, and even rainstorms. What makes Titan even more compelling is how its chemistry may mirror the early Earth: its atmosphere is rich in organic molecules produced by sunlight breaking apart methane, creating a natural laboratory for the kinds of prebiotic reactions that may have preceded life here – making Titan a prime target in the search for primitive chemistry and a future playground for exploration. Kate Earl, Chair of WAS and a geologist-turned-science educator, spends a lot of time hosting mobile planetarium shows in schools, and volunteering at Hengistbury Head.
