Speaker: Dr Joyce Filer

Dr. Joyce Filer originally trained as an audiologist and teacher of deaf children and for many years was Head of Department for deaf children in a London school. Several years later Joyce studied archaeology and excavated at many British sites. She later went on to study full time Egyptian archaeology and followed with a post graduate course in ancient pathology. From there Joyce became Curator for human and animal remains at the British Museum. Over the years she has been involved with CT scans and X-raying mummies and excavating in Egypt and Sudan.
