Speaker: Guy Hurst
Guy is editor of “The Astronomer” magazine, and is a former President of the British Astronomical Association. He received their highest honour, the Walter Goodacre Medal. He has also received an award of ‘Services to Astronomy’ from The Royal Astronomical Society. Guy teaches and lectures extensively. The idea that stars are unchanging is very old. We look at some of the history and impact of the appearance of “new stars” from long ago up to more recent times.
