The Mary Celeste is now a modern reality! The Mayflower Autonomous Ship is a first-of-its-kind autonomous ship. On its inaugural journey, the ship commemorated the original Mayflower by following its transatlantic route, gathered critical ocean data, with not a single person on board, gathering data that could help understand the impact of climate change and pollution. Zoe Gathercole is a Software Engineer in the Advanced Prototyping Team of IBM Research.
