Talk: The story of the British Antarctic Survey facility Halley VI - BNSS

This talk is by Lt Col Robin Miller and will investigate the story of the latest of a long line of British Antarctic Survey science stations, which uses state-of-the-art concepts to form the first relocatable facility able to cope with the prevalent extreme conditions. This talk describes how the station was moved to a safer location 14 miles further inland, to avoid a widening fissure in the Brunt Ice Shelf. A remarkable tale of scientific and engineering innovation, which redefined polar architecture.
