Speaker: Owain Masters
Our Dorset heathlands are home to all 6 Native British reptiles, including the elusive smooth snake. These heathlands are of enormous importance to wildlife – as a habitat they are rarer than rainforest. Owain Masters, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, is going to explain the work of the charity, highlighting examples of habitat management, wildlife surveys, education and volunteering. National Lottery Heritage Fund is supporting Snakes in the Heather project, and BNSS are partners. Owain will update us on all aspects about the heathland reptiles and the work of the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation.
