The General Section of the BNSS programme has included a wide variety of talks in recent years on subjects as diverse as the history of British seaside piers, medical detection dogs, lifeboats and the local history of Poole and Bournemouth.
The lecturers have ranged from local historians who have undertaken their own historical research to professionals from Bournemouth University. We have hosted talks on the themes of recycling and other environmental issues that have become more relevant than ever and will continue to include these important topics in the future. We will continue to look for the academic or the more light-hearted presentation that will inform and entertain the audience.
